O Ispa – Instituto Universitário de Ciências Psicológicas, Sociais e da Vida abriu um concurso internacional para o recrutamento de um(a) Investigador(a) Auxiliar na área científica de Psicologia, subárea de Neurociências, ao abrigo do programa FCT Tenure – 1.ª edição (Aviso n.º 02/C06-i06/2024).

A posição, com a referência Investigador/06/CT/2025, é contratada em regime de direito privado e dedicação exclusiva, sem termo. O trabalho será desenvolvido no William James Center for Research (WJCR), unidade de investigação do Ispa, e foca-se na interseção entre psicologia e neurociência cognitiva, com ênfase na compreensão e tratamento de comportamentos aditivos, como o consumo de álcool e drogas.

O(a) candidato(a) selecionado(a) deverá apresentar um perfil sólido em investigação científica e experiência relevante em análise de dados complexos, como machine learning e modelação preditiva. Será responsável por desenvolver projetos com potencial de financiamento competitivo, publicar em revistas científicas internacionais, colaborar com redes académicas e não académicas, orientar estudantes de mestrado e doutoramento, e lecionar até quatro horas semanais.

Ispa Opens International Call for Assistant Researcher in Neurosciences

Ispa – Instituto Universitário de Ciências Psicológicas, Sociais e da Vida has launched an international call to recruit one Assistant Researcher in the disciplinary area of Psychology, sub-area of Neurosciences. The position is part of the 1st FCT Tenure Track Programme (Notice No. 02/C06-i06/2024) and aims to strengthen scientific research in the interface between psychology and cognitive neuroscience, particularly in the context of addictive behaviours.

The call, under reference Investigador/06/CT/2025, offers a full-time, permanent contract under private law, with exclusive dedication. The successful candidate will be based at the William James Center for Research (WJCR), ISPA’s research unit, and will assume the role associated with the WJCR Chair: Assistant Researcher in Neuroscience_1.

The position focuses on research into neurocognitive factors linked to susceptibility to addiction and treatment variability, employing advanced methodologies such as machine learning and predictive modelling. Applicants are expected to present a strong scientific track record, experience in competitive funding applications, and active engagement in international academic collaboration and public science communication.

In addition to research, the role includes supervising MSc and PhD students, limited teaching duties (up to four hours per week), and active involvement in the strategic development of the WJCR’s Social, Cognitive and Applied Neurosciences research line.
